Introducing the new Nelo V1: a true performance Para kayak for serious athletes.

The level of performance demanded by Para athletes has increased over the past few years. Curtis McGrath and other top athletes are working extremely hard, both on and off the water, resulting in blistering race times.

This inspired Nelo to overhaul the traditional Vaa boat style and develop the new V1 Sete.

Nelo K1 R&D takes the V1 to the next level

The V1 design moves more towards the new Nelo K1 Sete shape. It sits higher in the water, decreasing the wet surface area, reducing drag for a lighter paddling feel - and an impressive lift in performance.

Nelo have developed a very reactive boat that allows a fast start from the blocks. The steering is quicker and more responsive than a tiller bar (T bar), which makes it easier to keep the boat on a straight line, yet nimble when changing direction.

Kevlar and carbon construction

Developed by a Naval Engineer, the ‘F Type‘ is a Kevlar and carbon construction with a PVC core. One-piece construction eliminates the hull and deck join. Plus the V1 has more carbon in the cockpit which adds to the feeling of stability.

Proven performance on its first outing

Curtis McGrath took the new Nelo V1 for a spin at Montemor-o-Novo, Portugal in August 2018 and produced a record slashing world title win. His personal Nelo V1 was delivered in November and he is extremely happy with its performance and fancy paint job (thanks for the photos Curtis). Check out his Facebook Page to see what he’s up to.

F	Carbon Foam Epoxy Vacuum Heat Cured	This construction has proved it’s potential before and has become one of the most popular. It’s extremely resistant and stiff, so it’s excellent both for sprint training and competition.
SCS	Solid Composite System	This system was conceived by MAR Kayaks. It allows us to produce boats as solid as composites can be using the latest technologies. It has an extreme performance level due to its extreme stiffness.
E	Carbon/Kevlar Honeycomb Vacuum Heat Cured	This construction is specific for marathon racing, and its main characteristics are lightness and stiffness. The balance between weight and stiffness gives this construction an outstanding performance in marathon racing.

Dates are a guide only and may be subject to change.

Shipping: We order minimum of four boats to be shipped together. This keeps shipping costs to a minimum.

Shipping dates may be moved forward if numbers allow, so get your mates on board too. (Sorry, Nelo K4 boats must be shipped in a container and cannot be shipped separately.)

Express Shipping: If you would like your boat ASAP we can have it sent from Portugal as a single order by sea freight. Cost is $700 per boat.

Deposit: 50% deposit is required before orders will be sent to Nelo. The balance will be due upon delivery
