Twenty-­odd years ago, Terry Newsome got bit by the kayaking bug. Soon after, he became obsessed with owning the best gear available – so he began importing it himself. This evolved into an online racing kayak business now known as ipaddle.

Terry is heavily involved in the New Zealand Kayaking scene – you may have seen him in the guise of a race steward at major meets around the country. He is the organiser of the annual Canoe Showdown in Warkworth, and frequently accompanies the NZ Youth Team when they compete internationally. Terry continues to paddle every chance he gets.
